Creative Art Therapies

Creative Art Therapies

The use of creative art therapies can be extremely effective in the processing of pain or trauma where words might fail us or the event challenging to verbalise.

Accessibility

Creative art therapies are accessible to both seniors, adults and children. Drawing and Talking Therapy is a specific attachment based therapeutic intervention that is considered the number one alternative to CBT and direct talking therapies which some clients can find confronting. Drawing and Talking Therapy is designed to complement CAMHS and other specialist therapies.

Overcoming Challenges

Each stage of our lives can bring a unique set of challenges. This can include school, friendship, family, career and relationship matters to name a few. Aging and health matters can bring new challenges for the individual, their family and caregivers.  Creative art therapies are delivered through a person centred approach focused on creating a secure, supportive and caring therapeutic relationship. This can facilitate a safe and effective method which older clients may find helpful in facing challenges such as anxiety, isolation and mental health issues.

One to One Approach

These sessions may be offered face to face (1:1) or online ensuring consistent support. The Drawing and Talking Therapeutic Approach consists of 30 minute sessions over 12 weeks’ duration.  Other Creative Art Therapies and Talk Therapies are 50 minutes in duration.

Heart In Mind therapists are advanced practitioners qualifying them to lead 1:1 and group sessions.
